New York come-up kings, or ‘Young Lords’ as they often like to refer to themselves, A$AP Ant and A$AP Nast release the Japanese themed video for The Way It Go/Trillmatic. Ant’s feature is very au courant – a trippy beat laced with a slightly slurred, monotone delivery feigning disinterest. Reminiscent of cloud rap, The Way It Go is the perfect accompaniment to a J and a low-key night at the crib with your friends.
Nasty however…wow. Talk about staying true to his New York roots! I didn’t even know Nast was capable of such a powerful delivery! No disrespect to Ant but I do wish Nast’s feature was a little longer. I feel like he’s been very quiet when it comes to the waves being made by the A$AP Mob but with talent like that I hope to hear way, way more of him.
The video is pretty dope too. Its DIY but definitely not in a low-budget sort of way. It rekindles my love for the Shibuya district and makes me want to party with some Japanese It girls – those ladies are thee most cutting edge when it comes to style. You can also peep cameos from A$AP Yams and Stussy golden boy A$AP Illz.
