What is Janayjoi dancing to?

I figured that since I wrote an article on hip hop music made for dancing, I’d share my favourite dance moves/dance videos. The videos were selected for personal reasons. Here goes:

1.Harlem Shake in “Let’s Get It”- G. Dep ft. Black Rob & Diddy

I clearly remember a house party held in a garage back in high school where this song was played. The entire group of guys and gals started doing the Harlem shake. Needless to say it felt like a damn earthquake and volcano up in there. Good times.

2.Chicken Noodle Soup in “Chicken Noodle Soup” -DJ Webstar

I know, I know. I chose this one because back in my first year of university, one of my good friends and I would do this damn dance whenever we saw each other in the dorm. It was pretty silly but it was fun. Plus what better way to feed hungry university kids than with Chicken noodle soup?

3.Moonwalk in “Billie Jean” – Micheal Jackson

I couldn’t do the moonwalk for shit without moving the rug, but the performers who would come to my school dressed to the gloves like MJ sure knew how to back walk their ass to space. Plus, this is a universal dance. I judge men’s dancing skills on their ability to moonwalk.

4.MC Hammer Dance in “Can’t Touch This” -MC Hammer

I call this is the Crab Walk. My husband hates crabs, and lately, whenever I see this dance I think about him.  It makes me laugh every time.  Apart from that though, this was just a great, energetic, fun song.

5.Break dancing in “Days Go By”- Dirty Vegas

I was watching this video the other day and I couldn’t complete it. Even though this might not be considered a hip hop song, the breakdancing in this video is memorable and, holy cowards, the storyline gets me every time! It’s something everyone can relate to. Music is such a powerful tool and paired with the right sort of dance, the desired emotions can be expressed as seen in this video.

BONUS: Blue Streak’s Dance Scene with Martin Lawrence

I love to laugh, and the dance moves in this video never fail to make me laugh! Martin Lawrence killed it.
