Weekly Fresh Cuts…

Last week was a pretty busy week over here at Bad-Perm. Not enough sleep, lots of events to cover, oh yea and our 9 to 5′s to tend to, lol! So we missed quite a few new releases. It’s never too late to post up new music, so I decided to compile a list of new music and videos that have been released in the last couple of weeks. Feel free to download and support the new heat from these amazing artists.

[AUDIO] Union – WINGS (Audible Doctor Remix) ft. Audible Doctor & Elzhi

The Audible Doctor teams up with Union & Elzhi to bring you the “Wings (Audible Doctor Remix)”. The track is a fresh take on Union’s song “Wings” with verses from Audible Doctor and Elzhi.

[AUDIO] Frank Ocean – sweet LIFE (prod. by Pharrell Williams)

From the highly anticipated channel ORANGE, which is out on July 17th. This track is just beautiful and reminiscent of a modern-day Stevie Wonder track. Nuff said.

[VIDEO] Sean Boog (The Away Team) – SEAN BOOGIE NIGHTS (prod by Ka$h)

Well I’m sure the Jamla Army is going to be promoting this heavy on twitter! This title track is off Boog’s album of the same name, which will be available tomorrow, July 10th. Check out this video directed by Kenneth Price with cameos from Jamla family Rapsody, 9th Wonder, Eric G, Actual Proof, Khrysis and more; most make appearances on the album as well.

[AUDIO] AB The Confidant – KISSING YOU (co-produced by Black Milk)

Y’all might be familiar with this singer/songwriter who has worked and toured with Black Milk, Foreign Exchange and Slum Village, to name a few. This is a fresh, soulful remix of the 90′s group Total’s track “Kissing You”. After seeing Ab perform at a few Black Milk shows, I instantly became a fan of his mesmerizing vocals. This Wednesday, July 11th, AB will be releasing his first EP, Prologue Vol. 1, in a two-part series of cover songs on Okayplayer.com. In this track, Ab is on vocals and keyboard, while Black Milk covers the drums and moog, as well as the mixing and engineering.

[AUDIO] Sene x Blu x ANTHM – YOUNG LEADERS feat Britain Parker

This is definitely a tight song from these 3 dope emcees. Rumor has it that these “Young Leaders” may be working on a project in the new future.

[VIDEO] Maffew Ragazino – BK ACCENT ft. Skyzoo (prod. by Fred Bear)

This track is off of Brownsville emcee, Maffew Ragazino’s upcoming LP Black Gold, scheduled for a fall release. Maffew should be releasing a new mixtape this summer entitled Never Ran Never Will, so look out for that. As for lyrical beast, Skyzoo, keep an ear out for his new mixtape, Theo vs. JJ: Dreams vs. Reality, dropping soon.

[MIXTAPE] Big Jacks – TOP DOWN

Check out this mixtape put together by DJ Big Jacks for the trendy women’s store, Aritzia. This mix is perfect for those low-riders and random summertime drives through the hood. I swear when I listened to this mix, I felt like I was driving around somewhere down South, wearing booty shorts and rocking a perm while a dude with gold fronts tried to holla. Anyway, add this mix to your collection which includes tracks from 2 Chainz, Drake, Big K.R.I.T., A$AP Rocky, Kanye West, Schoolboy Q and Loose Ends.

[ALBUM] Zaki Ibrahim – EVERY OPPOSITE

Canadian-born South African singer/songwriter Zaki Ibrahim creates a diverse opus with her latest, Every Opposite with production from Tiago of Tumi and the Volume, Wawesh from Kenya (Just a Band), South London production team LV, and Toronto’s Rich Kidd. Open your minds to creative flavors of pop, indie, soul, Hip-hop and afro beat.

Well, just because I’ve been killing Oddisee’s new album People Hear What They See, it’s only right that I post his latest release off the album. This is actually one of my favorite tracks on the album, you can read my full review here.

[AUDIO] Nas – CHERRY WINE ft. Amy Winehouse (prod. by Salaam Remi)

Life is definitely good when you can get a new banger from one of your fave emcees and one of your fave singers. RIP Amy.

Apologies for the quality…seems it’s difficult to find a good version. This one is the best I could find.

[VIDEO] Joey Bada$$ – WAVES

Yes it seems there are still a few left of this generation that actually understand hip-hop, Joey Bada$$ being one of them. His flow and delivery on this track are on point and the beat is slick as hell. This video is directed by Va$htie and is just one of standout tracks of his breakthrough mixtape 1999. The future is looking bright with emcees like this.

[AUDIO] Kane Mayfield – CHAMPAGNE & GYROS (ft. Greenspan and Mistah F.A.B.)

Dope new track from Baltimore’s Kane Mayfield, whose album Rhymes By Kane: Thievery Corporation Edition is due out on July 24th. I’m feeling the horns and jazzy beat on this track, courtesy of the Donald Byrd track “Stepping Into Tomorrow” sample.
