VIDEO: TORAE “THAT RAW” (PROD. BY PETE ROCK)

O-M-G Torae is a rhyme dealer?!? If this is true he’s bound to be labelled the “Rhyme Lord” of hip-hop! The concept for his latest video “That Raw” (produced by Pete Rock) off the classic album For The Record is extremely clever. Torae premiered the video moments ago on allhiphop.com and broke down the concept:

“I think when you hear the title “That Raw,” especially for people that know me and know me as a wordsmith of sorts, know that I like to really try and make the people think. “That Raw” is just being a raw MC, a raw lyricist and giving you real content. When you think of “That Raw” in the streets you think of uncut heroin or a real raw product on the drug market so we’re trying to merge the two worlds and what I did was give you “That Raw.” If you look at the video it’s almost like a feeling of peddling an illegal substance and what it is is just the lyricism and the lyrics. It’s a real interesting concept and I didn’t want to just hit you with the norm so I think when people see it they’re going to like it,” he told AllHipHop.com.
