“Lost in the World” was one of my favourite tracks off of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, not only because it featured one of the best from the indie scene, Bon Iver, but also because the production said so much to communicate the tone of the song. Visuals for the song were inevitable, and Kanye has finally delivered today nearly two years after the release of the song via his G.O.O.D. Friday drops. Directed by fashion filmmaker Ruth Hogeben, the black-and-white video features a slew of model-dancers scaling buildings as they sort of pop in and out of a fetal position and dance their torture away while Kanye raps standing on a mirrored building reflecting the sky. Pause – reread that sentence – yes, this is really what goes down. It’s not what I expected for the song, but I guess I should know by now that one should never expect anything from Kanye West. Check out the visuals for yourself below and let us know if you figure out what it all really means.
