Throwback Thursday: MC Lyte – Cha Cha Cha

This is one of the songs that made me become passionate about hip-hop music. This is my favorite track by Lyte and one of my favorite tracks in hip-hop, period. Her confident and effortless flow is what helped her to gain recognition as a great MC. She could hold her own in a sea of male MC’s, which has influenced me to have the confidence to discuss hip-hop in this male-dominated genre. Plus I know all the lyrics by heart. And let’s not get started on that trend-setting hairstyle!
