Damian Marley releases Set Up Shop for 4.20

Now you can’t speak of weed culture and NOT mention The Marleys!!

Son of late, great Bob Marley, Damian, released his official video for “Set Up Shop” today in honour of 4/20. Now this single has been out for quite some time but these are some def dope visuals to revamp and re-light (pardon the pun) the track!

Personally, I love this dude, for many reasons, one being the way he spits, his voice, his messages in his rhymes, etc. but he is always keen to really make heard some serious, prevalent issues – especially for oppressed people. As such respect must be given where respect is due. That and his blood lineage is a given of course! At a time in music when many of the songs you hear today, are pretty much about nothing, Damian definitely makes a name for himself and cultivates an identity separate from the fame of his father. I suppose that’s why he’s respected so much from industry veterans that penetrate cross-genre lines! Lastly, for those of you who claim this ain’t hip hop nor that Damian is a rapper, I say this: the only difference between his rhymes and any of the others is he raps in Patois. If anything, at least this dude raps about things that MATTER. G’wan Damian, g’wan!
