Michael K. Williams to Play Ol’ Dirty Bastard

There has been talk for quite some time about turning the life of late rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard into a film. Now, screenwriter Brent Hoff is making this a reality with his film Dirty White Boy, a movie about Ol’ DB and his relationship with his manager Jared Weisfeld. Fans of the tv drama The Wire may be happy to see that the role of Dirt McGirt has been given to Michael K. Williams (better known as “Omar Little”, the rough, tough, homosexual stick-up kid on the hit HBO series).

For those who were worried about Tracy Morgan or Eddie Griffin possibly playing the role of Ol’ Dirty, don’t breathe a sigh of relief just yet: Dirty White Boy is NOT the biopic that ODB’s cousins RZA and Raeshawn are working on. That film has yet to be given a name, and the last we heard, they are still considering Griffin to play the role.
