Heads up BET, Diddy’s coming for you. Television insiders, B&C, reported that Diddy plans to launch a new music cable network by the end of the year, with former MTV programming chief, Andy Schuon. Called ‘Revolt’, the network is being described as “a music and music news channel with an urban skew” and plans are underway to launch on 12/12/12. Other details are still on lock, but word is that Diddy and his team are in talks with Comcast & Time Warner to distribute the network as part of the FCC’s plan to green-light 10 new minority-owned networks in America over the next 8 years.
The move could catapult The Baron of Bad Boy ahead of rivals Jay-Z, Dre, and 50 in the race to be Hip Hop’s 1st billionaire.
